PATALSU TREK

Patalsu is a mountain summit near Manali. It’s a popular trekking route , due to its proximity to Manali, and substantial height gain . The trek is also done by mountaineers who come from lower elevations, to get acclimatized with high altitude, before venturing into much higher altitudes. The trek goes through the last village of Kullu, through a forest , into alpine pastures. It’s a magnificent view from the top. You can view Hanuman Tibba(5930 mtrs), Indrasan (6221 mtrs) , and Deo Tibba (6001 mtrs).

Day 1.

Manali.

Day 2.

Trek to the next campsite Solang Valley. Solang is 11 kms from Manali, with an elevation of 2950 mtrs.. The trek goes through dense forest, Apple orchards, and old villages. There are many streams on the way. Set up Camp at Solang Nala.

Day 3.

It’s a few 150 mtrs descend from Solang towards the Beas river. Then after crossing a bridge, there is moderate to steep gradient. The trek passes through dense forest, into alpine pastures. Its about 6 hrs trek to the summit. It’s a magnificent view from the top. You can view Hanuman Tibba(5930 mtrs), Indrasan (6221 mtrs) , and Deo Tibba (6001 mtrs). Return to Solang campsite for the night.
